My grandmother’s maiden name is Apostel, so it was only natural to drink Apostel Bräu over this past Easter weekend.

My dad’s cousin, Gerd Apostel, brought a few bottles with him while they visited us from Germany for the holiday weekend. He admits that he usually has a case at home and tells everyone that he brews his own beer. And while technically anyone today can make their own brew at home, this beer doesn’t taste home made at all and has a rich yet a little bitter taste that’s supposedly been around since the year 1713.

Time to find me a Kortas brew somewhere out there, or start one!
