I made a little change to the naming of my blog. Most probably won’t notice; the polvadis.wordpress.com address still works, and the rest probably click over here from Facebook.
I did however buy out the Kortas.blog address as soon as WordPress e-mailed me that a .blog naming was becoming available. I’ve had this blog for a few years now, with its ups and downs in posting frequency, but polvadis.wordpress.com was getting a little long now.
Kortas.blog
Now that’s more like it. It is my last name by the way, for those of you that are wondering why the Kortas monicker. Anyway, welcome to the new/old blog!
I have been researching the Kortas name for a long time. It is my understanding it started in Wierzchucin Krolewski in the 1700s and they moved east in different generations: Byszewo, Wiezowno, Koronowo, Wudzyn, Kotomierz , Dobricz and Bydoszcz. My great, great grandfather was Michael Kortas (born in or around Wudzyn about 1826) and married Julia Wesierski (born in or around Serock about 1829) in 1845. Any detail of your heritage would be helpful to my quest. William Kortas (computab@swbell.net)
Michael Kortas & Julia Wesierski cannot possibly be your great, great grandparents, because they are my great, great grandparents. The only child they had born in Poland was Antonia (1851), they then emigrated to the United States in 1852 (coming to Manitowoc, Wisconsin). I have researched many Kortas names, coul you provide more detail and I will try to find the correct connection.
