March 8th is the international Women’s Day but I’ve never heard of it while living in the States. It’s huge in Poland though, women pretty much everywhere were showered with small gifts and flowers. The girls at my company were given loads of chocolates that they later walked around sharing with the always hungry engineers, and engineers love chocolate.
I invited Karolina to dinner in a small Greek place in the Center Square of the city and while I waited there with flowers I had bought it was extremely nice to see that pretty much every women that passed trough had a flower in her hand. It also didn’t feel as pressured upon people as Valentine’s Day seems to be; “must buy flowers, must be romantic”. Today was just a nice day to honor all the women out there and thank those close to us for putting up with our shit.
