For my newest Wine of the Month column over at WroclawUncut.com I visited Adoria Vineyards located just a twenty minute drive south of Wrocław. And while you will have to wait for the article to be published (link will be provided of course) I wanted to post some photos ahead of time.
EDIT: http://wroclawuncut.com/2014/05/16/wine-month-adoria-riesling/
Mike Whitney is the owner of Adoria Vineyards, a successful businessman once climbing a corporate ladder that one day decided that if he was gonna put in 70 to 80 hour work weeks…he would do it for himself with his family by his side. And it sure looks like it was the right choice.
Polish wine is not well known, in fact you’d be hard pressed to find any Polish wine stocked in a supermarket in Poland. Vodka and beer is what we do, it’s what our climate allows us to produce. So how did Mike manage to start a winery in Poland? In his own words: “I don’t tell my grapes they’re Polish”. 🙂
Any guesses how the Adoria name came about?
